Even though we can wear camo during any time of the year – it seems like it is MOST popular in the fall. When it blends in (see what I did there?) to the changing of the seasons and adds extra oh-yeah to your look. But camo = Military. Soldiers. Tough. Rugged. Worried how to integrate this into your style? Are you super feminine or ultra conservative or seriously trendy? No matter what is in your closet, do not pass up on camo! First impression: it might seem intimidating to tackle the camouflage look if it’s not a natural wardrobe staple. However, you can easily add it into your style and into your look with some simple ideas. Wearing camo is one way to effortlessly capture that street style. And – You can do it.
Starting out with camo? Wear your normal (currently trending) distressed denim. Add a basic Hanes tee. Throw on classic mirrored sunnies and some camel colored sandals. Keep the rest of your palette neutral to balance the confidence of the camo. Love pairing camo with navy or basic white. Classics. V-neck tees and jeans. Think basic and neutral colors for the background to the camo you wear. Doesn’t matter if it’s a jacket or jeans – keep the rest simple.
Next question you may have – what about my bag? Don’t get your style off-balanced and nominated for a fashion emergency if you carry around a bag that brings distraction to the camo. Again – keep it simple. Here’s what may inspire you – use vintage. This vintage hat bag found at the Cleveland Flea is now used as a bag for everyday! How about that?
If you use a vintage bag – there is a slight downside. No pockets for cell phones. Go figure. Solution: Use all those chic little (makeup) bags you’ve accumulated over the years to contain your lipsticks – then another for your keys – then another for you important papers. Whatever you need to contain – those little bags tare finally coming in handy!
How do you wear camo? Or if you don’t wear it yet… how do you think you’d like to add it into your style?
