Don’t you DARE let your sweaters be drab! And… don’t you DARE add more debt to your credit card. Update & upgrade your boring sweater into something fabulous with only spending a few dollars.
Here is a worthwhile tutorial on how you can turn an old (or unpopular sweater at the bottom of your closet) into something new and trendy. No need to spend lots more money on something new. Just redo.
Here’s how I transformed my plain, grey sweater into something that I am pretty pleased with…
Step 1: Purchase 1/2 a yard of glitter fabric from your fabric store. LOVING a touch of gold…
Step 2: Trace an oval around your hand onto paper (this will be your pattern)
Step 3: Cut it out… make sure it looks ok.
Step 4: Using your pattern, cut out 2 patches from your glitter fabric.
Step 5: Check to make sure that your patterns are pretty even.
Step 6: Get your plain sweater…
Step 7: fold your sleeve in half to find a good spot to place your glitter patch.
Step 8: Lay half of your glitter patch over half of the folded elbow section of the sweater. Pin down.
Step 9: Get assistance if needed… (Thanks, Moxie!)
Step 10: Continue to sew the patch on the elbow area of your sweater. Be careful that you don’t sew both sides of the sweater closed while sewing on the glitter patch!
Step 11: Once one patch is successfully sewn on, lay the other sleeve next to it so that you can line up where to place your second glitter patch.
Step 12: Repeat steps 7-10. Voila!
Now this redo sweater is everything FAB about Fall!
