The Age of Adaline: 1940’s Makeup with a 2015 Vibe
Again this week I’m linking up with some crazy cool bloggers in showcasing The Age of Adaline movie! Specifically, we are ALL ABOUT trying out some chic looks from this film. Us bloggers found some fabulous inspiration from the new movie, The Age of Adaline, and want to share it with you.
My theme throughout every-single-one of these decade posts? Give that decade (1940’s showcased today) a modern touch. A mix between the 1940’s and 2015. I hope you like it! xo
Loving how this movie takes us through the decades and through all of those iconic looks. How fun to recreate some of these looks with a touch of today, right? Let’s try out some 1940’s inspired Hair and makeup today!
Want to wear that 1940’s look with a 2015 vibe?
My suggestions…
Get ready to get GLAM gorgeous with the 1940’s! Women were ready for that gorgeous red lip! To really show it off, they kept the eye makeup SUPER subtle. I used just a wash of a golden color fromMary Kay. The Apricot Mistcream based eyeshadow was perfection!
How to style hair today with a 1940’s foundation was a tad tricky. Showing off that fun 40’s curl but keeping it more boho-chic-modern to wear today. Ashley, my hair stylist, figured it out and created lots of curl to my hair, but then brushed it out to give it a more loose look. Adding in a braid showed off a 2015 trend! LOVE how it turned out!
If you’re in Cleveland you should have Ashley do your hair!
Products: To style my hair Ashley used the ONESTA brand of products. Onesta means “honest” in Italian. The idea is that they are honest in their ingredients. They are organic and amazing! If you’re looking to try out some new, clean, fresh products – try these. Ashely sells them at Salon Lofts so you can pick up some when she styles your hair! Easy peasy!
Think you’ll try out this 1940’s/2015 do?

Love the hair!! I’m seriously the worst with doing my own hair, I usually just let it go natural or throw it in a bun. http://www.styleiseverythingblog.com
