Hot cocoa, faux fur blankets, and snuggly socks. All “Top Picks” to own a cozy chic snow day outfit look in the winter. But – here are other outfit ideas can keep you warm while also looking stylish in the snow!
Being a native Cleveland chick, I am all about the snow. Really! As much as my “happy place” is a beach, I admit that I adore the snow! When white, fluffy snow delicately lands on trees and coats the lawns in a pure, white blanket – it’s stunning. The irony is that amidst this happy, snowy, beautiful view – we are FREAKING OUT on what to wear. How to layer up a look so that the vibe is street style chic – while we are still not freezing. Not an easy task to look sophisticated in snowy style while it’s a balmy 19 degrees outside. It’s quite a skill to achieve this balance. And it’s majorly frustrating – right? After pulling a ridiculous amount of items from the closet … trying them on… then rejecting most of them… you realize that you have nothing to wear. In the pile of dozens of tossed clothing reject outfit items- (note the irony of nothing to wear?)… you give up. Whatever. Put on that basic, boring ensemble and head out the door. And your mood is cranky pants.
Turn that frown upside down! <wink> Stay warm while looking confident. Just because it’s cold outside does not mean that your outfit won’t be as noticeable as those that you effortlessly throw on in the summer. Number one idea to master your look? Layers. So simple. Don’t overthink this. Create the foundation of your outfit- then add in details of a cozy fringed scarf, pom-pom hat and embroidered mittens. Perfects the wardrobe palette. All in the (warm) details.
Add these street-style staples to your closet NOW. Right now. While on final sale, since it’s the end of the season, jump on those Sorel boots ASAP. Classics that you can always add to your snow day look to keep it stylish and warm…
