Ok…let’s have some real girl chat. Ever thought about Botox? Curious about the real-real-reality of it?
I’ll start. I have been curious. What it’s reeeeeeally like. Who gets it done? Certainly not people like me. right?
- What are the after-effects.
- Does it hurt?
- How long does it take?
- Will there be bruising?
- How will it look?
- Will I look plastic-fake-phoney after a treatment?
Fast forward to today…I GOT BOTOX! (FYI… all these photos are without filters/photoshop effects in natural lighting)
WHAT TO EXPECT WITH BOTOX:
- “Worry” lines gone. #ByeFelicia
- Non-surgical procedure – takes about 10 minutes
- No downtime. Literally get it on your lunch break.
- Pain? Very teeny, tiny/minor headache for about 1 hour afterwards
- Results? Noticeable in about 5-10 days, last up to 3 months
- Less is more – Trained professionals know the correct dosage to look naturally youthful – NOT plastic.
WHERE TO GET IT DONE:
Research online reviews, trust word of mouth, ask questions from someone who had it done. Ask your dermatologist. RUN AWAY (quickly!!) from any cheap deals or Botox parties. You get what you pay for. Fact – only a doctor, nurse or dentist can administer Botox.
BEFORE/AFTER PHOTOS
Fun, fashionable and cute photos are more my jam… but to reeeeeeally show what Botox does, here are 3 facial expressions to demo the results. Notice my forehead/between eyebrows.
The “Normal/Waiting in line at Starbucks” face:
The “A clown is running after me” face:
The “I missed the Nordstrom Sale” face:
What IS Botox? Botox keeps your body (the area you get it done) from telling those muscles to contract. That’s it. When you get Botox, the muscles around the wrinkles/lines (where you get it done) basically can’t move. They are relaxed. So, the look of wrinkles/lines gets all smoothed out.
Get that Glo, tho….SKINCARE
Botox or not, be SKIN SMART with your skincare, dolls. Choosing skincare can be like playing a game of duck-duck-GOOSE. Any success? Noticeable results? Invest in your skin. If you shop the #NSale (guilty), get a mani/pedi, style your hair, get a massage…why are you neglecting your face?
ZO Skin Health, Inc has been a game-changer for my skin. Hides the fact that I’ve been tired since 2010. <wink> All things are possible with ZO Skin Health, Inc.
WHAT DO I USE?
Cleanser: Newsflash – found out that MANY cleansers on the market are almost the same as if you used dish soap on your face. Whaaaat? For reals. THIS spa-like foaming cleanser is the one you want. Pinky swear promise. Developed by dermatologists, it’s gentle, removes any sort of ick from your skin (scientifically speaking), deep cleanses pores and leaves your skin feeling refreshed, clean and hydrated. #WinnerWinner
Correcting Cream: So I might or might not have been a sun-worshiper in my teens. #BeachBabeFail. THIS cream is my new BFF for the maximum treatment for melasma, freckles, and any type of hyperpigmentation (aka brown spots.) Want to even out and brighten your skin? Use this.
*You need a prescription to purchase, so contact a medspa for more information…
Saving THE best…the MUST-HAVE…. for last…..
Daily Power Defense: I like this more than pizza…and I really like pizza. My skin is doing a happy dance. Although a tad pricey, worth it! This cream is magical (again, science) for my skin. Tightens and firms the skin, helps my cells regenerate to make faster/prettier cells and repairs against future damage (this cream gets me).
A smile is the best thing you can wear… but if you have been curious about other options – I hope I helped. Comment or email me privately with any questions. I’m happy to girl chat more about Botox, skincare…or pizza.
wow you look great! botox always kind of scared me so thanks for making it seem less frightening!

It looks so natural on you, not plastic or fake at all! I honestly would have never known if you didn’t tell me! I feel like there are so many people that over use botox and look scary so it gives it such a bad rep.

Your botox looks very natural. I’ve been thinking about getting it but thought it lasted longer than 3 months.
Wow I had no idea it could be so natural and unnoticeable like this!!! I would love to consider it!
I’ve been thinking about it but honestly, until I tackle my weight, this seems like a silly thing to do (for me). You look great and now I am not afraid to check it out!
I don’t know if I’d ever get Botox or not. I know it’s temporary and non-invasive, but I love that there are other options out there. Thanks so much for sharing these products!
how cool! i have heard great things!! you are GLOWING!

Holy crapoli, the before & after photos are SO DIFFERENT it’s actually making my jaw drop! The Anew MedSpa is amazing, and did such an incredible job. You look fantastic, and all of your information is so helpful. I’ve thought about it for quite some time and reviews like this makes me feel MORE comfortable about the entire thing! xx Adaleta Avdic
Wow! I cannot believe the results you had. I would have never have guessed they would have been so dramatic, especially since you looked great before.
Thank you for sharing your experience with Botox! I don’t know if it’s ever something I could do because I’ve heard so many horror stories, but your results are AMAZING!
The results are absolutely amazing! I am not at the point where I am looking into Botox but maybe in the future.
I definitely see the improvement in your skin with the Botox. I have always been leery of Botox. I have seen what it has done to some people’s faces and I have to say, eek! But, it appears you are doing things the right way, because your’s looks good.
Love this post it takes all the guessing out of Botox and makes it super easy to understand plus I loved all your before and after pictures!!! I am with 1000% on the skincare! You need to take care of your skin ladies and gents!!

I think everyone should do what makes them happy. If a little perking up makes you happy – do it!
I’ve never had Botox done before and I don’t know anyone who has. Great insight into having it done, one I normally wouldn’t have heard about before. Thanks for sharing.
You look great before and after. I’ve often wondered about having Botox injections done.
I don’t think I ever thought about getting botox, but now I’m curious. It’s interesting to know what it’s like to get one and what happens, so thanks for sharing your experience! Good to know it’s effective, it’s evident in the before and after photos!
I love your before and after photos- they really show a difference. It is nice to read from a non-commercial representative about Botox.
There is a big difference in your forehead lines in the after photos. It’s interesting to see that it is so easy and convenient to have this done.
Im totally scared of botox but im now jealous of the difference it made for you, especially the forehead lines.
I would like to get Botox, even though I am a little scared. Your results turned out awesome.
You look amazing!!! Wow. TV makes botox seem like the start of clown appearance, but that is not even the case. I love the difference it provides in the tightness of the face.
I’ve never had it done, but it’s nice to hear a real person’s take on it all. It looks really good!
Wow, it really worked its magic! I am terrified of needles, so this won’t ever be getting Botox, ha!

I’ve been hearing a lot about botox for headaches. I would be interested in this if it helped my migraines!
You look stunning. Thanks for sharing your experience with Botox. I have never really thought about it but now that I know more, maybe in the future.
I really want to get it! Even though I’m on the younger side, my doctor said it’s great for preventing wrinkles.
This is the most relatable, helpful Botox post ever! I love the before and afters. You look fantastic! I’ve been hearing a lot about getting it for headaches; which definitely intrigues me!
I like the idea of it only taking 10 minutes. I’m always in a rush so a quick beauty fix is what I need.
Wow! Those results are incredible. I’ve been thinking about Botox for a long time and this post is really pointing me towards finding out more. Thank you!
I have never thought about getting it, especially since I have always hated, hated needles. However, I think my oldest sister mentioned about getting it sometime. 🙂
Omg love it!!!!! I’m a Botox junkie! If you get it done right it looks totally natural. You look fabulous:)
Wow you look amazing hun, your forehead is so clear. Is it quite hard to move it because of the botox? I heard that does happen!
Karen,
I wanted to thank you for the beautiful article you did on Anew. We loved having you in the spa and can’t wait to see you back!
Wow the medspa did an amazing job on you!!! I think there has been such a stigma in the past about botox when people severely overdo it. Yours looks so natural, I wouldn’t have even been able to tell unless you posted this!
