Ugh. New Year’s resolutions are THE worst. Compounded with commercials for Slim Fast, home gym equipment and other things (that tend to imply we need to do better), resolutions are NOT what you want to do to ring in the new year on a positive note.
No Resolutions?
Nope. Instead, think about making yourself feel healthy (mind, body, soul). Might be a new workout routine, but it just might just be baking fresh cookies. Or maybe it’s saying “no” to volunteering for extra stuff. We can do small things every-single-day that might have been overlooked to remind us we do NOT need to better, we just need to breathe.
✅ Calendar Goals ✅
Before the start of each month, write down 1 “thing” you want to do that day for each day of the month. To get you started, I have January done for you! Just save the image (above) and print out… or save to your phone for reference.
- Think of things that;
- make you happy… add those to your calendar.
- make you feel all UGH… and remind yourself to NOT do those things.
- you’ve wanted to do (simple things…) but keep forgetting and jot those down.
- are SO easy to squeeze into a day with 10-minutes (ex: write a real letter) and do them with priority.
✅ Set a GOAL to CLEAN your makeup Brushes (on the regular…ahem) in 2019
✅ Plan to BAKE more COOKIES in 2019!
✅ Don’t Feel Guilty Taking Time to DOODLE or DRAW in 2019!
✅ Plan a Day-Trip for a Quick Staycation in 2019!
✅ Netflix Binge on a Friday Night (cancel other plans – shhhhh) in 2019!
Cheers to 2019… and to ALL the positive possibilities it has in store. Take it easy on yourself and allow yourself time to breathe. Remember that there is always rain before rainbows – so keep following what makes your heart happy. It will happen. But not overnight.
I make plans and set goals for each year. We look back over everything we accomplished. Very satisfying
I am not one for resoultions either. I made that conscious decision about 3 decades ago! Well, actually problay in high school. I remember writing a paper on how ridiculous resolutions were at that time, and I still believe it.
I like this. I don’t do resolutions either. I don’t like to stress if I don’t complete them. I just try to live the best way I can!
I’ve never kept a resolution, so I stopped making them. This is much better!
Ha! I absolutely love your “Ditch straws for good” day. I did this years ago (I even published an article about it). Back then, people thought I was crazy. But look now – we’re actually getting there!
I just want to be more organized in 2019! I’m trying to cut down clutter and spending. I like your list of thoughts!
This is such a great a concept. I love the idea of doing calendar goals.
I love this idea! No new year’s resolutions for me this year. I am determined to enjoy my family this year.
I like your way of thinking. I never make new years resolutions but I do try to set goals that I want to accomplish. I think a good workout routine is a great place to start.
I try not to make resolutions anymore. I just try to be a better version of myself each and every year.
Babushka is loving this idea so much she had to tweet about it. 100% in agreeance, daily happy love/prompts are much better than resolutions. Gracias for the reminder.
2018 was a tough year, i had to deal with unexpected major health issues. This year, I just want to be positive, healthy and take one thing at a time to reach my goals.
I really like this idea! I feel like I need to do more attainable goals this year and not make my resolutions so broad. This is a great way to do it!
What a great calendar/list of ideas! I can’t bake stuff because I don’t have an office to take them to, haha. Sometimes I’ve taken them to the staff of my favorite coffee shop, though!
Love this concept. Although I will NOT be baking. Ever again LOL
