Being a sleepy girl with a busy life is hard. Using these 5 (simple) stylist secrets, with Soft Surroundings, you have all the tips/ tricks and bedding essentials to layer your bed to feel cozy and look designer!
If Your Soulmate Might be a Pillow…
- How to Use Pillowcases: Not only protects your pillows but enhances the designer look.
- Designer Details: Side buttons or an exaggerated (country cottage) bow upgrades the look.
- Luxe Materials: Rich velvets, quilted shams and fluffy textures instantly create a sophistocated look.
- 3 Pillow Layers: No matter what size bed you have, you want 3 layers of pillows.
- King: (Starting at the headboard) 3 Euro pillows, 2 King pillows, 2 Standard pillows (and 1 optional bolster/small throw pillow centered in front – the 4th layer)
- Queen: (Starting at the headboard) 2 Euro pillows, 2 Standard pillows, and 1 bolster centered in front
- Twin: (Starting at the headboard) 1 Euro pillow, 1 Standard pillow, and 1 bolster centered in front
Patterns, Pretty Please!
- Patterns Add Variety: Use different textures, fabrics, and designs to layer your bed.
- Patterns Add Interest: A pattern under a quilted design over a waffle weave creates cozy dimensional layers.
Fun-damentals!
- Personality: Add (inexpensive) throw pillows to add in some fun!
- Trendy: “Amore” or “Get it Girl” pillows show personality and work with the design.
- Seasonal: Add some seasonal (pumpkin, snowflake,”be mine”) pillows for fun. Why not?
Sheets & Blankets & Quilts & Comforters!
- Temperature Control: Layer it on! Really. Adding ALL blankets now is genius and cozy. Too cold or too hot? Layering on or off the different warmth levels of the blankets on the bed. You’ve got it “covered.”
Quality Control
- 100% Pure: Splurge on organic or 100% pure materials. Forget sheet count. Why? 100% pure fabrics improves in softness with time, not like synthetic materials (that just wear out).
- Cotton, bamboo or silk = Smart choices
- Moisture-wicking, breathable fabric
