Happiness looks gorgeous on you, girl! And hey – when you can’t find the sunshine – you BE the sunshine! Found the CUTEST (and chicest) lil’ way to give you those happy reminders daily!
On the regular, finding happiness in ALL moments can present a challenge. We are busy #GirlBoss types of individuals, and although we “get” that happy moments are valuable … we are busy. We have good days – we have “not-so-good” days. But seriously, do you know WHY finding even 5-minutes of happiness each day can majorly make a differerence to your physical/mental health and appearance?
Create Habits
- 30-Days: Habits (good or bad) can be formed in as few as 30 days. Why not make 1 of those habits a happiness one?
- 3 Times/Day: Create a happy habit in the morning, afternoon and evening.
- Find a Focus: regular intervals keeps your happiness in check…and your mood steady-Eddie.
- Takes a Second: Your happy focus can range from just a few seconds to a few minutes.
- Sense it: Use your senses to find joy
- Examples: Appreciate that first sip of coffee, hearing a bit of silence during a lunch break, smelling a flower at a park…
- Sense it: Use your senses to find joy
- Takes a Second: Your happy focus can range from just a few seconds to a few minutes.
- Find a Focus: regular intervals keeps your happiness in check…and your mood steady-Eddie.
Sleep On It
HOW you feel (emotionally) before we fall asleep affects how we feel the next day. Using those 30 minutes before you drift asleep to do something calming/happy to center you or calm you is key!
Ideas? Could be watching (bad) reality-tv, playing Words with Friends, reading a chapter in a book…
Got it? Jot it!
- Journaling: Reminds yourself of happy moments in your day – these are WOW factors to re-read a week from now… a year from now… even a decade from now.
- Creates appreciation, which brings joy, which elevates your mood in an instant!
- Prompts: THIS journal is a no-brainer…especially if you’re not a “journaling” type of gal.
- Quotes from writers, musicians, philosophers, and leaders
- Quick ideas to “jot” down happy moments during the day
- Doodles to draw out (haha – see what I did there?) a positive moment from your day
What ways will YOU Use for HAPPINESS Find You?
This post is dedicated to my good friend Kate…and to remind her to find happiness every day despite her BUSY new #GirlBoss job responsibilities…xo
I received this book to review from Blogging for Books in exchange for this post, but all opinions are my own.
Great thoughts to ponder. It really is important to enjoy life as much as possible, and find pleasure in the things and work we do. I have to be thankful for my kids, husband and dogs.
That’s so true! We have to make the most our of life! We should be thankful everyday.
I love that little book! I am going to have to go and look for it. Right now, I just have a little spiral notebook that I more or less journal in but I like that it helps to inspire positivity and fun ways to instill happiness on a daily basis!
I love books and journals that help you become more positive! I’m sure you’ll love writing on this one!
I’ve been trying to be more mindful with the things I do each day. It helps when I think of brushing my teeth as a mouth massage instead of a chore 🙂
It’s really so much better to be in the moment. Haha, that’s a fun way to look at brushing your teeth!
This is a super cute book. I want to give it to all my nieces for Christmas. Love it.
It’s really nice and it definitely makes a nice gift! I’m sure they’ll love this!
This book looks incredible. I am constantly putting myself on the back burner and do everything for my children. Picking one up immediately!
This is going to help you so much! It’s really lovely to have books like this that motivate you to be more positive!
That book is awesome and to find happiness in little things throughout the day is great. Life is too short being unhappy, we should be focusing more on how to live our life to the fullest and enjoying the little things in life.
That’s exactly what we need these days, to find joy in the little things. We need more love and positivity in this world!
I need that book in my life! As a mom especially, sometimes I forget to do things JUST for myself. I need to be better about remembering that it can be okay to be a little selfish once in a while.
Moms especially need more me-time in their lives! They end up doing everything at home and it can get crazy! I hope you get this book for yourself!
What a sweet little book! And yes… I’m always looking for the joy in each day!
That’s the secret! Those little joys definitely make our perspective on life so much better!
One of the things I am working on for myself is finding joy in my day. I love the How To Be Happy book.
I’m sure this book will really help! It’s a great way to find the joy in the little things and to help us be more grateful!
Wow I definitely need that. I tend to stop everything when life happens and I love the prompt to change what you’re saying to “next time…” It pushes you to do what you want with your life now rather than one day when things get less chaotic, easier, etc…
It’s a must have and it’s definitely going to help you see the light in all the good stuff that’s happening with your life! It’s a good book!
I used to have a journal in my college days. And every time I feel blue, I just open it and I enjoy reading, even if I have read it many times already..
It’s really lovely to document everything in life and to see the good in the things that we go through everyday. I keep a journal too!
I need to give this book a try. I used to journal a lot and would always write a gratitude list after each post. I’ve sort of gotten out of the habit. I tried the 5-minute journal but didn’t like the formula. This looks more like my type of inspiration.
You should, it’s totally worth it and it’s going to let you think more positive! I hope you pick one up!
I absolutely love this! I think the key to happiness is so simple that we almost have a hard time grasping the concept since it is so easy. I want to pick this book up! Great gift idea too!
That is so true! We always complicate things when in reality the more simple life is, the more happy we end up being!
This is so cute, fun and most importantly therapeutic! I need all of the daily reminders!
That is so true! It’s really going to help improve your mindset!
Agree to all this! We are currently in the middle of packing up our home to move. We are closing on our current home and new home on the same day so it’s a little crazy. Add that to a heavy workload and my normal mom duties, this month is about to blow up. It’s so important to stop and do something that makes me happy regardless of how busy I feel!
I hope you go through all of that just fine! It’s really important that you slow down a bit and just give yourself some time to breathe.
I wish I could journal. I feel like when I get a book and start i just give up and don’t bother going on with it. Blogging makes me happy though so i guess I can just continue!
Blogging is a form of journaling after all. I do hope you consider getting this though, it’s really awesome!
I love the underlying principles of this book. One of my goals this year has been to write a letter or thank you note every week. (It started out as a “daily” goal, but that wasn’t working, so I adjusted my expectations.) The hardest part about it is honoring the time I’ve set aside to do it – it’s so easy to move it down the priority list, which defeats the purpose. Taking a few minutes to ground yourself every day can be life-changing, but it requires a commitment.
Being grateful is easy when you think about all the blessings that you have everyday. I think this is going to help with your goals.
I have been trying to be a happier person, I wasn’t too much a few months ago (thanks stress) but you wouldn’t believe how some people have noticed my change! I’m pretty sure I NEED this book. I would love to write in it
Being more positive towards life really makes a difference with how you deal with things everyday! I hope you continue to do that! This book will definitely help!
