Seriously. How many hours a day do we think about our hair? This is craziness. Well, not craziness, but we need some answers. Some REAL ideas of how to get our hair into tip-top shape. And is there a way to keep it simple? Please? Well, relax – I have some answers. And I can tell you that with a few simple rulesto follow it will make a mega difference. Easy.
Rule #1: Take your vitamins!First and foremost – you need to take hair vitamins. Yes, you do. A good easy solution is to run to your local Target and get some pre-natal vitamins or biotin pills. However, if you are seriously serious about hair…. listen up. While at New York Fashion Week I was told by a NYC top hair stylist to use Viviscal. He swears by it, as do his clients. So far I have taken this for a year and I truly notice a difference. It takes time, as anything does… but wait for it. Worth it.
Rule #2:Put on the Protein!Daily styling is brutal on our hair. The hot blow dryer and the flat iron or curling iron… lots of cray-cray hot heat. But… its ok if you know how to handle it. First – you MUST-MUST-MUST spray a protein spray on your wet hair prior to styling. I recommend the Oscar Blandi Jasmine Protein Mist viaBirchbox. Easy and breezy. And helping your hair.
Rule #3: Don’t fry when you dry your hair. Take off the nozzle before you dry. That nozzle aims some hot-hot-hot heat at your strands of hair in a really tight stream. You can get the same effect by taking off the nozzle and just pointing the blow-dryer downward. Same effect, but SO much better for your hair.
Rule #4:Bet on a boar brush – it makes a difference. Be sure to use a natural boar brush. Luckily there are budget-friendly ones available at stores such as Ulta or Sephora or even a local drugstore. But if you want to go big… go to Mason Pearson.
Rule #5: Treat yourself to a Deep Treatment! Once a week do an at-home deep conditioning treatment on your hair, and once a month try to schedule one in with your hair salon. The extra conditioners help give your hair the extra moisture that it can lose from daily blow dries and other styling you do. Try the Ojon Damage Reverse Restorative Hair Treatment – Throughout the month of October, Ojon™ will donate $5.00 from the sale of this special edition Restorative Hair Treatment to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®
Follow these 5 simple steps and you are helping your hair by leaps and bounds. Funny how the little things can mean the most.
