You know the saying, “Genius is 10% inspiration, 90% perspiration?” Well, in this case I disagree. Its funny where you can get fashion inspiration from. For example, the other night while at dinner at a Mexican restaurant I happened to glance at the table across from us and there it was – a gorgeous turquoise and a lime green chair set. I LOVED it…and starting wondering how I could fuse those colors in my wardrobe and in my home decor. The blend of those two colors at the table had me thinking – Where are all the places that I might have overlooked where I could have got amazing fashion inspiration?
The Mexican restaurant opened my eyes. Just look around you for inspiration – and then apply that to your fashion. Apply it to your home fashion. Just apply it all around you if you love it.
Here are a few examples of how these Mexican restaurant chairs inspired me…
Home Decor:
Plants in turquoise glass vases tied with string
Couch pillow (Found at Target)
Cute cabinet that was repainted turquoise & filled with a sea of blue items..
Fashion:
Earrings (Found at Target)
Sorrelli earrings (Courtesy of www.Sorrelli.com – from their new “Blue Jean Dream” collection)
Outfit (Put together at Old Navy) with a Kate Spade necklace (Purchased at Nordstrom)
So… I plan on really being observant around me and discover the colorful inspiration that is right in front of my face. However, this does NOT mean that I will stop using my fave magazines for help too!
What kinds of fashion inspiration have you seen recently?
Ok – time to shop!
