Still being optimistic about a fountain of youth or a miracle cream? Stop reading now. Because the truth can be a shocker. And the truth is that to get beautiful skin, you need to do it from the inside out. Remember how your mom used to always remind you to take your vitamins and eat your vegetables? Mom knows best. Specific ingredients you consume make some maj differences for your skin, health and appearance. Specific foods target specific skin problems. Want to know the secrets to these recipes? How to get gorgeous glowing skin by adding certain veggies to your meals? Oh – and want all this in 1 book with dozens of yummy options?
Wendy Rowe, the author of Eat Beautiful, spent over 20 years as a makeup artist and beauty consultant. She “gets” it, ladies. She knows what we want. She also knows the easiest ways to get there – because ain’t no one got time to do a boot camp juicing cleanse with yoga on the side. Am I right? Wendy breaks it down in a very uncomplicated and holistic way to tell you quickly and simply how to “fix” any skin issues you have.
Need to repair skin cells? Spinach. And spinach the way it should be prepared – inside an almond chocolate milkshake! Would you like to stimulate collagen production? Silly question, right? Who doesn’t want a more taut, young and radiant complexion. Know what? Have a pomegranate spring salad. Done and done. Blood pressure been a tad high lately? Seeking solutions to reduce that and improve circulation? Spice up your meals with some chiles! Cheers to coconut water for a post-workout drink to get those electrolytes and hydration. But – no-no to coconut water from a carton. Must be in a refrigerated bottle (like milk) and it needs to be organic, according to Wendy. Did you know that?
Besides these essentials, you also get advice on what to add in or avoid depending on your skin type. Genius stuff here. Let’s not neglect the pampering part of this book. Homemade masks, scrubs, mists, toners – all to feel luxurious and look gorgeous. Luckily the cookbook part of Eat Beautiful is organized into sections for each season so it’s more convenient to plan your meals.
THIS. The 1 book to get beautiful, radiant skin – just from yummy food!
I received this book to review from Blogging for Books in exchange for this post, but all opinions are my own.
I am definitely going to have to add this to my library. My skin is so sensitive and it would be awesome to have a resource like this on hand to see what works with my skin.
Another reason to add spinach to shakes. I’m in! And chocolate is an antioxidant, so bonus, there.
Such a neat book! I have never heard of this but would definitely love to read it especially if it means no cleanse! haha!
I do believe in the link between proper nutrition and beautiful skin. We are what we eat.
It’s crazy to think how much our diet is correlated with our skin clarity. I can tell when I’ve been eating poorly just by looking at my skin in the mornings!
This reminds me of Dr. Perricone’s book, and if a makeup artist and dermatologist are saying the same thing I better start paying attention! Plus I’m a sucker for pretty pink books. Can’t wait till it gets here!
I have to add this book to my 2017 reading list. I love self-help books, especially one about skin care.
ok, I’m intrigued! I am definitely going to check this book out. I know food is good for skin and your body, now I will have more specifics
I agree- diet is totally related with skin clarity. I can’t believe how well you feel and look when you are eating healthy!
Sold! I love this idea and it is so true! What we put in our bodies has to impact everything we do. I can’t wait to read this book from cover to cover!
First, that is a beautiful-looking book. Second, yes, what we eat (and drink) really effects our skin. I’ve seen such huge differences when I simply up my water consumption, for example. But so many other things effect it, too. Looks like a great book!
I totally agree that food plays a huge role in not only how our body feels, but looks as well. If your not feeding it with the right vitamins and nutrients why is it going to flourish and glow. What a great book!
I had not heard of this book before!! It is amazing how much little things can make such a big difference in our skin.
THis looks like a great book1 and as i am trying totake better care of my aging skin it is just right for me!
Love this, I’m reading a few good books myself! I can’t the Almond Chocolate Milkshake! That’s sounds amazing!
I did not know that the carton of coconut was not good unless it was in a glass container and not in a carton. Great advice! Gonna put spinach on the grocery list for sundays trip.
This is my kind of book! I know a few of these you’ve mentioned from my mom! You’re so right, mom knows best! I love how this is a healthy book plus a pampering guide! Sometimes we think, “eating healthy” is bland, boring food, I love how it’s presented in this book! Makes me want to do it!
What a great book. I have been having skin issues this past year plus can see major signs of ageing. I need to read it.
What a cool book. I’d never heard of it until now. I’m going to have to look into getting a copy. Thanks!
You are so correct in what you eat does certainly effect your skin. I know when I haven’t been drinking enough water – my skin get “rashy”, but I also am a red head and we tend to have issues anyway
This would be great to have for those moments where you just don’t know. I know that more times than not I get stumped when it comes to my skin.
This sounds like a wonderful book! I love that there are separate sections for the seasons.
Before we talk about the book, I love those little floral plates next to the book LOL! I need to read this book. My eating habits have gotten bad and it shows!!!
This book really sounds interesting to me. As I get older I have noticed I need to treat my skin better and have started increasing my water intake. I love trying new recipes so this is right up my alley.
This is really an interesting book for me I love to read this and my skin gets so dry during this winter time I think I need to moisturize it and drink a plenty of water
I’m actually so interested in this book! I have struggled with my skin for as long as I can remember! I will definitely look into this!
I love the idea of this book. It’s also a beautiful book to look at, I’d love it on my coffee table.
Oooo now these are the types of books I love to read and display!!! Think I might have to check this one out
I have a problem of totally neglecting my skin care. This would make a great addition to my library. thanks so much for the recommendation.
This sounds really useful and like such a fun read! Everyone’s skin is different so it’s great that there are different remedies for different skin problems!
