Create those street style, chic, easy and trending hairstyles you see online in 5 simple steps. Outsmart any bad hair days with a braid. Simple, sophistocated and so easy to style! The hectic-ness from the holidays and New Years can be exhausting. After all the entertaining and party hopping, the thought of showering then blow-drying/styling/flat-ironing and (dare I say) curling your hair might make you kinda cranky.
Number 1: Dirty Hair is a DO!
You can literally wake up (with “dirty hair”) and in 5 steps own a GOOD hair day. In a matter of minutes.
- Secret: Slept on/Next Day hair holds a style “harder-better-faster-stronger” than squeaky clean hair. #Truth.
Braiding with a “Twist”…
Another secret?
- Street style chic hair is all in how you cross the braid sections in the braid.
- Makes a maj difference from looking simple to owning the upgraded braid vibe.
Braid On…
- Keep the braid going, crossing UNDER instead of OVER.
The Braid Alone Isn’t Enough…
- Add hair as you braid (similar to a French Braid technique) to keep the braid looking thick.
- If you don’t add more hair each braiding turn, your braid will get thinner and thinner and won’t hold the style.
Foolproof Finale…
Once you’re done with the braid… you’re NOT quite done. Last crucial step is to SLOWLY (carefully) tug out the curve of each braid.
- Braid secitons appear thicker.
- Look of the braid is on trend and stylish.
Outsmarting bad hair days, looking gorgeous and saving time? Done… done – and done. Switching up different styles and types of braids can look modern, elegant and effortless. Try it…

I have been putting braids in my daughter’s hair to try to control it. My hair is too short for braids right now.
Braids are really a great way to style our hair, especially if it’s long. Hope this idea is one that you can use on your daughter’s hair!
I love a good braid! Especially since I am in terrible need of a hair cut right now, I always use a brad to make it look decent when I don’t have the time or energy to really “do” it.
I love braiding my hair as well. That’s also what I do when I haven’t had the time to visit my hair stylist. It’s easy and it’s stylish!
I have fairly long thick hair— about 5 inches past my shoulders so I adore having my hair done up in braids…. it keeps me cooler because with thick hair it can get hot. I love the look of this braid here I definitely want to try that out. I usually just do a basic French braid or pigtail braids…LOl there is probably a better term for them than that but I mean like two separate French braids….
It’s definitely a quick solution especially during the summer, when the weather is hot and you no choice but to tie your hair up. I hope you give it a try, it’s also a lovely hairstyle for parties and gatherings or even date night! Haha, I get what you mean about the French braids!
I definitely should pin this for later. Thank god I have boys, I can barely put my hair in a pony tail !
That would be awesome. I can imagine! Braids are fun and stylish when you’re bored with the usual pony tail.
Oh man, I really want to get good at braiding like that! It’s so cute!
Like what they always say, practice makes perfect! Thanks for dropping by, hun!

Thank you so much! It’s really a good change from the usual bun or ponytail! I love braiding my hair!
I love this braided look so much! I am so bad at doing anything with my hair… your breakdown of the steps makes achieving this style seem like even I could do it!
