❤Pop Quiz: Is chest pain (prior to a heart attack) how woman know their heart is in trouble? The answer is NO. Women typically have symptoms that are NOT related to chest pain. Do you know what symptoms to look out for?
- Neck, jaw, shoulder, upper back or abdominal discomfort
- Shortness of breath
- Pain in one or both arms
- Nausea or vomiting
- Sweating
- Lightheadedness or dizziness
- Unusual fatigue
❤Surprising…but TRUE ❤
❤Symptoms for women MOST often happen…
- When you’re sleeping
- Hanging out and relaxing on the couch
- At stressful times
❤Women typically arrive to the hospital…
- AFTER damage was done to their heart
- Second-guessing their symptoms
- Apologizing for the medical visit/appointment (thinking it’s probably nothing…)
- Not thinking it’s a heart attack since chest pain isn’t a symptom (or a minor one)
❤Heart Health Do’s…and Dont’s❤
❤Educate YOURSELF… Be Smart about your Heart!❤
After attending the American Heart Association #ClevelandGoesRed luncheon and learning more about heart health and risk factors (especially for women) with other bloggers, I could-not-believe that I was so clueless about heart health. Time for women to crush it KNOWING the signs and symptoms and speak up when things feel funky.
- Stress less…
- Give MORE gratitude…
- Walk it off…and exercise
- Be mindful in the moment…
- Listen to your body (know the warning signs)
- Be unapologetic about taking charge of your heart health

This is an eye-opener for me- I never knew that a heart attack doesn’t manifest as chest pain in women. This is scary. I will always remember that so, I don’t second guess my symptoms and end up having a damaged heart. Thanks for this informative article. For a minute there, I thought this was going to be a Valentine’s post- it was about one important muscle- OUR HEARTS.
I’m glad I’m able to inform you and open your eyes about something very important. I hope my post will urge you to take better care of your heart and your overall health.
Thank you for making me aware of this. I know I always want to stay safe, so I will keep this in mind for sure.
I’m glad I was able to inform you better about how we should take care of our heart. Thanks for dropping by!
I was not aware of any of these! I have heard that heart risks for women are always misdiagnosed because doctors look out for male symptoms!
That is so true and I’m very eager to share information and raise awareness on this for my fellow women! We have to look out for each other and most especially, look after our hearts.
This is amazing. I wasn’t aware of alot of this. These symptoms are scary.
It can be pretty scary if you don’t know what you’re dealing with. That’s why I am more than willing to raise awareness on this! Thanks for the visit.
Ok….the symptoms are a bit scary. I did not know those. I have to make an appointment myself. I also have to exercise more.
It really is. It’s nice to get checked regularly just to make sure your heart is doing okay. I hope my post helped you focus more on your health.
Heart disease is pretty common and there are plenty of women suffering from stroke and heart attack. I think it’s time that we took notice and focused more on our heart’s health. This is such a lovely message for everyone, thanks for raising awareness.
That couldn’t be more true, AnnMarie. It’s definitely important that we also focus on our heart’s health and schedule regular check ups! You’re welcome and thanks for the visit!
Heart failure runs in my family. I am always concerned about my heart health. We have to make sure we know the signs, it’s truly a matter of life or death.
Yes, that’s so true. Whether it runs in the family or not, we have to make sure we get regular check ups. It’s really important that we do. Thanks for the visit!
The best way is to eat healthy food and exercise. Smile and live a happier life!
That’s so true! It’s part of taking care of ourselves especially our health. Love this!
That is a very cute tee – and for a good cause. Something else – many women die of a heart attack because medical professionals themselves are less likely to recognize the signs of a heart attack.
Thanks so much! It’s really nice to be able to support a good cause. That’s right as well, which is why it’s important that we take good care of ourselves and our health.
This is such an eye-opening post, I have to admit I didn’t know much about the risks to women at all. Heart health is perhaps one thing we don’t seem to talk about enough.
I’m glad to have shared this information and to make more women aware of the risks. We have to focus on our health and share its important with fellow women too. Thanks for the visit! I hope you appreciated my post!
This is a great way to get people aware of heart health! My grandmother has had multiple heart attcks in her lifetime, so I know how important awareness and recognizing the signs can be. I’ll be sure to pass it along, thanks for sharing!
YES, totally! I think it’s really important to share the information and make people aware. Thanks for the visit!
I’ve seen much about the campaign and I love it.
That’s really lovely. Thanks for the visit!
Wow, I never realized those numbers! This is an awesome way to raise awareness!
It’s really going to open your eyes to how important heart health is. I hope this made you more motivated to take good care of your heart. Thanks for the visit!
Very interesting blog post and eye-opening. We women have a higher risk when it comes to heart threats and as you said, eating habits can help a lot. Thanks for sharing
Yes, totally. It’s really important that we raise awareness on this especially since the symptoms are different with women and we don’t know what we’re looking for. Thanks for the visit!
That’s strange. I didn’t know that women didn’t experience the same kinds of symptoms that men experienced. It would be odd when you are expecting some kind of chest pain and it’s really some other pain that is a signal. Glad you are putting this information out there.
Right? It makes it all the more confusing and dangerous too for the women who are experiencing it but aren’t aware. It’s really nice to be able to help spread the information about this. Thanks dropping by!
Wow. I had no idea. I always tend to second guess my symptoms.
It’s really important that we’re aware. That’s why I’m spreading the information as much as I can. Thanks for the visit!
These is a great article.
Sorry I hit send before I was done. This is a great article! We often ignore the signs and symptoms before it’s too late. I will remember these tips in the future.

Being aware of heart health is so important. Some of these were really not in my mind as being signs. This was definitely an eye opener.

That’s right. It was definitely an awesome event!
It is really important to take care of ourselves, especially our heart. It’s amazing how the symptoms can often be associated to minor things that we often ignore the signs or misdiagnose ourselves. Aleviating stress with yoga, reading and meditation can help, along with good diet and exercise.
Yes, definitely. Those are awesome solutions for us to help prevent heart issues and have a better heart health. Thanks for dropping by and sharing ideas!
