Upgrade your Easter Basket game. Immediately. No more plastic green “grass” or those #Typical Easter baskets found at every corner drug store in the country. Be chic and trending (not trendy) with your Easter basket. No boring basket blah-ness.
Do you have a BFF or daughter or co-worker or relative who might seriously be loving an Easter basket that is fab and fashionable – and NOT in a basket? Truth – how many baskets do you own (right now – be honest) and how often do you use those stored baskets? See my point? Let’s get that “basket” booted – and move on to a stylish and chic way to celebrate the holiday!
Chocolate. The fab foundation of an Easter “basket” and anything that is worth swooning over, right? Before you start DIY-ing any sort of stylish display of items, you need chocolate. Keep it simple with the chocolate. Walmart has got your back on this one, ladies.
DOVE® Milk Chocolate Bunny, DOVE® Peanut Butter Egg (NEW at Walmart this year!), SNICKERS® Bunny Cane (a tube filled with candy and a bunny tail top) and other yummy goodies like Skittles® Bunny Cane, Starburst® Funsize Cane or even Hubba Bubba®.
Throw a few thematic Easter items, like any plastic eggs, into your shopping cart.
Transform those plastics eggs to chic status. Chalk paint makes a “drab to fab” beyond easy to use. The results? Pretty-much-flawless.
STEP 1: Paint eggs a chalky white color with a foam brush. Instant #MarthaStewart status.
Once dried, dip that foam sponge brush into some gold metallic paint. Then tap-tap-tap over the chalky white eggs. Upgrading those $1 plastic eggs to super sophisticated.
Step 2: Shop some gorgeous girly goodies! Think pretty pink candles, decorative pineapples, fashion books, cute pencil holders, thematic bunnies or even some fashion books. Any and all of the above work! Tip: Head to the dollar section for the best bang for your buck!
Step 3: Ditch that basket! Really and for reals. What about putting your DIY painted eggs into a deviled egg tray? Isn’t that much more fabulous? Not only can you re-use the tray (versus those #LetsbeHonest cheap basket) but it can even double as decor. Stuff those DIY painted eggs with DOVE® Milk Chocolate Bunny, DOVE® Peanut Butter Egg (NEW at Walmart this year!), SNICKERS® Bunny Cane and other yummy goodies like Skittles® Bunny Cane, Starburst® Funsize Cane or even Hubba Bubba®. Display with any and all stylish stuff! Done and done, girl!
Find ways to be fashionable in your Easter Basket gift-giving. Show the stylish ways to showcase any gift – for any holiday. Doesn’t this make your Easter (baskets) a billion times better? Not only will the gift recipient ADORE the gorgeous gift, but your fashion-forward ideas will make holiday history!
How will YOU make this holiday (or any holiday) more fab than drab?
I would love it if the Easter Bunny brought me a basket like that. Maybe I should leave this page open on my laptop so he see’s it tonight 😉
That’s sparkly and pretty! I love that there is a “chocolate shopping list” in this post. Everyone needs a chocolate shopping list!
This is way cool. I do not have an artsy bone in my body so this would probably looked weird if I did it….LOL
This is so cute! I would LOVE if the Easter Bunny brought me Kate Spade. These are such cute ideas.
I always include a chocolate bunny in every basket. I love the beautiful eggs you made. My kids still do the crazy die in the Paas box but maybe I can convince them to glam it up.
I love the look of this! What a fun idea for an older daughter as well. I have an almost 18 year old that would rather receive this than a kiddie styled basket.
This is a fun “basket.” I use my daughter’s Easter basket from when she was tiny and fill it with pretty much what you have described. I often use Dove’s chocolates and Walmart is my favorite place to buy them.
Last year I sort of boycotted Easter baskets and didn’t get my kids anything! I like the idea of a non-typical Easter basket and really ramping up the chic in chick!
This looks like a fun project and now I want some candy haha. I love those books you have there too!!
You are so right about the baskets. I have so many in my basement. I love the idea of a fab new way to celebrate Easter. And, that pineapple is awesome!!
I’m loving the mug. It is super chic and girly. And the deviled egg dish is so sweet. It has a very retro feel, which I adore.
That came out so cute. It would be perfect for older girls who may be “too old” for a “little kid’s” basket lol. I think I need to get that deiled egg dish for myself though.
Agree, it’s all about the presentation and colors. Thanks for the unique and creative DIY tips. I love the idea of metallic paints this Easter!
This is such a cute idea!! Totally chic. I always think of little kids for baskets, but this one would totally work for a sister or bff
Oh my god Karen, every post you make is just so beautiful and colourful! Love all the ideas, especially the little tray, it’s so pretty! xx
This is so cute! I always love to get creative every Easter and do something out of the box. This is truly unique, and I just love your style. Great job 🙂
These are such cute ideas. My son loves to paint so will so will try painting the eggs with him
Dove chocolates are my favorite all year around!! I love these eggs that you made. I need to give that a try!
love this! what a really great idea. I have a girlfriend who would love something like this and I’m visiting her around easter, such a good idea i may do this!
Ohhh those eggs turned out so pretty! I just love the metallic details. And I’ll take that candy please. Bwah!
That is such a cute idea. I love girly girl decor and this turned out really adorable!
Thanks for the ideas to make a chic Easter basket! No matter what, you can’t forget the chocolate!!
Thanks for sharing this post with us. Enjoyed reading. These creative projects can be so much fun.
I love Eater time! Other than the real reason for the holiday, I love to stock up on my secret chocolate stash and Dove makes delicious chocolates!
