Ready for a kindness challenge? Looking for acts of kindness ideas? Ways to give back? But while giving back still staying within budget? There are dozens and dozens of ways to spread kindness around but here are my top 5 ways that I’ve felt have made the biggest difference. Keep on doing those daily acts like smiling, offering genuine compliments to a stranger, holding the door open, and leaving big tips when dining out or ordering take out. But here are a few other ways to spread those acts of kindness around all year round!
You’ve Got Mail!
Nope, not an email, but a REAL letter. Write thank-you notes (love all of THESE!) and send texts to friends. Maybe not an “act of kindness” that you would think of immediately, but aren’t we grateful for our friends, and wouldn’t it make them smile to get a real letter in the mail?
Charity Connections!
Connect a charity or local animal shelter to your Amazon account for that act of kindness when you’re not even thinking about it. Showing the charity gratitude for all that they do on a daily basis.
- AmazonSmile Charity Lists is an easy way for you to shop and donate items directly to charities in need.
- Find the charities you’d like to support, add items from their lists to your cart, and check out. Those items will be delivered to those organizations on your behalf.
- AmazonSmile donates 0.5% of your eligible Charity List purchases to your selected charity, at no extra cost to you.
Coffee Time!
Purchase $5 Starbucks gift cards or (even better) gift cards to a local coffee house to give to someone at the moment (ex: healthcare worker, pharmacist, DoorDash person, etc…) for an easy act of kindness. The random gifting of a $5 gift card will be such a welcome surprise!
Treat Yo’Self!
How often do delivery people bring boxes to your house? Probably a lot, especially during our stay-at-home time the past year. Show an act of kindness while showing your gratitude by putting out a basket full of snacks during the holidays (or all year like I do!) for delivery workers. HERE I share an easy step-by-step way to make a treat basket!
Rock On!
Paint rocks with decorative designs/colors/sayings and leave them around Metroparks, parking lots, or anywhere where someone might find joy in discovering one of your rocks. Its an act of kindness to a stranger and one that you might never see received in person, but that mystery is kinda fun too!
What other act of kindness ideas can you add to the list?
Share what you love to do to give back and show gratitude in the comments!
Someone might find joy in discovering one of your rocks. It’s an act of kindness to a stranger and one that you might never see received in person. I like it!
