Know what I thought might be fun?
Sharing a “Top 10 list” of facts about me that you might….not….know.
1. Secret Daily Routine:
I’m an online shopaholic. I almost daily fill up my online shopping cart from Asos, Sole Society and Zara, among others. But just an FYI to my credit card, I don’t often complete my purchases. But it’s my secret (now not so secret) daily routine.
2. How I like to spend a rainy day:
Rain is my #1 favorite nature sound. Even more favorite than the sounds of crashing waves on a beach. So on a rainy day I turn off any electronics/tv/music, get cozy on the couch with a blanket and my kitty, and just enjoy the tranquility.
3. Slogan for my life (based on a quote):
“Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself.”… Carrie from SATC
**Posing in front of my first photograph accepted at a juried art show! <made me really happy with me!>
4. Movie I could watch 1 million times without hating on it:
The Karate Kid (original). I mean… I could quote Mr. Miyagi all.day.long. For example, “Go, find balance”…. or “Walk left side, safe. Walk right side, safe. Walk middle, sooner or later get squish just like grape.” I also find these to be good, wise reminders for life.
5. A role model I had as a kid:
My 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Miranda Tone. I think she gave me that spark of wanting to be a teacher because she made every learning adventure crazy-silly-fun! I don’t remember “learning”… I just remember having a great time with positive energy. I try to use her teaching example in how I teach for my middle school students today. I hope I am making her proud…wherever she is.
6. If I could have 1 superpower it would be:
Underwater breathing. I adore the ocean. How fabulous would it be to hang with all the creatures under the sea? Pretty fab.
7. Favorite drink from Starbucks:
Pumpkin Spice Latte (#PSL)… er… maybe the Salted Carmel Mocha…. or the Gingerbread Latte in the Red Cup!
8. Dream Job (besides blogging and teaching):
Choosing those clever and creative names of nail polishes and lipsticks. Dream….job. <tee, hee>
This manicure that I did myself I would call “Pharoah’s Treasures”
9. If I could have an endless supply of any food, it would be…:
S’mores in the fall at a fire pit. Why do I just love it so? nom-nom-nom…
10. Craziest thing I’ve ever done:
Living in Cadiz, Spain (when I was in high school) for a summer. After taking the language for many years, I felt confident that I could handle it. I did handle it… I did LOVE it… and it STILL is a favorite memory of mine… but boy was it crazy. And frightening. But sOooOo amazing. I mean, getting on a plane, living there (with a host family…who spoke zero English), and “making it work” is a crazy part of my life that made me ME.
I loved all of these and OMG love the Karate Kid too! I’m a cart filler as well. LOL! This was awesome and I love your writing style too.
Thanks so much! And YES about Karate Kid! How many times have I seen it? Over a million. 😉
Loved this! Thanks so much for sharing! Also the beach really is awesome and what an amazing adventure, to live in Spain! So cool!
Spain was muy bueno! haha… Thanks! 🙂
What!? What!? Great post. 3,6, and 10 are my favs. I think I’m a mermaid 🙂
I also think you might be a mermaid… 😉
I seriously smiled the whole time I was reading this. I loved it!
Aw… Thanks so much!!! 😀
I adore the sound of rain too! Great job with the post for this day!
Thanks so much! LoOooOving these daily posts… 😉
Loved your post! Umm…I’m a cart filler too! And you know what drives me crazy…the websites that don’t auto save my cart!! Even though I may not actually buy everything, I’d still like to come back and see it in my cart and pretend that I am! LOL And I probably shouldn’t admit this, but even though I’m a child of the 80s, I never saw the Karate Kid (and with that I will slink off in embarrassment! ;)).
Totally hear ya with the un-autosaved carts! Boo! And… no time is like the present! Time to watch Karate Kid on Netflix! 😉
That’s so awesome you got to live in Spain for a summer!!
My favorite drink from Starbucks is also the PSL. If only it was healthier! :'(
They totes magotes need a Skinny Pumpkin Spice Latte to the menu, right? 😉
YES!! Oh my word, yes. Or, just get a sugar free pumpkin flavoring. Like, it still wouldnt be the best but itd be better than nothing!! Ive been doing pumpkin with a venti iced coffee and that seems to do the trick!
A lot of other coffee shops make pumpkin lattes. I’m sure you can find a place that doesn’t use all those additives and uses real pumpkin. I really like them so I just switched to a different coffee shop.
Good to know. Ill have to look into some of the smaller coffee shops but I don’t have many by me, compared to Dunkin or Starbucks. You can also make it yourself too, using a crockpot. Maybe I’ll have to share a recipe one day this week on my blog
thank you for sharing! That’s so amazing that you lived in Spain for a semester. Your kitty is adorable.
Thanks!! Love my cutey kitty so much! 😉
Spain is at the top of my list to visit! I could only imagine what an amazing experience living there must have been! And I do the same thing…I add stuff to my online shopping cart but most of the time never go through with the purchase.
